Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 July 2026

These terms govern your access to and use of Cogdemy. By creating an account or enrolling in a course, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Cogdemy (“Cogdemy”, “we”, “us”) is an online course platform operated by Hartlysams from Nigeria. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Cogdemy.

2. Eligibility & accounts

3. Enrolment & course access

When you enrol in a course, whether free, or paid via one-time purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access that course's content for your own learning. Unless stated otherwise, access is for as long as the course remains available on the platform.

You may not share, resell, sublicense, record, redistribute, or publicly display course content.

4. Payments

5. Refunds

Refund eligibility is assessed case by case. If you believe a purchase qualifies, contact us via the contact page within a reasonable time of purchase, describing the issue. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method, and related course access may be revoked.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Your content

You retain ownership of questions, reviews, notes, and assignment submissions you post. You grant Cogdemy a licence to host and display that content as needed to run the platform. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

All courses, videos, text, graphics, the Cogdemy name, and logo are owned by Cogdemy or its licensors and protected by law. No rights are granted except the limited access licence in Section 3.

9. Certificates

Certificates of completion recognise that you finished a course on Cogdemy. They are not accredited academic qualifications and do not guarantee any professional outcome. Each certificate can be checked at /verify.

10. Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers, including Supabase (authentication), Paystack (payments), Bunny (video delivery), and Resend (email). Your use of the platform is also subject to those providers' terms where applicable.

11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The platform and content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. See our Disclaimer. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cogdemy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the course giving rise to the claim.

12. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. You may stop using Cogdemy at any time.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
